but in this case it's taken a good, idk, 5 months or so of plotting and researching (and writing and rewriting) to feel like "I get it now". I get my characters, their motivations - for the most part, there's always a discovery process when writing - and that's exciting! ❤️

and it's funny because it's actually taken a lot longer than I would have thought to get to that point with my original work - this book in particular. like when I wrote fanfiction, I'm obviously having vivid daydreams about my little gay characters way before I write it.
