Have you read Perilous Times by Thomas D. Lee? It's another modern Arthurian fantasy but also a little futuristic and like...pre-apocalyptic? It was an unexpected reimagining and I really enjoyed it! (Attached blurb from Goodreads)

I’m a big fan of facing external obstacles to be together rather than a forced breakup or whatever. If a breakup makes sense, fine. But let plot or circumstances get in the way. They can do the job just fine.
