I'm not master so i don't clearly know which adjustment layer more mathematically correct in terms of color and light theory.

You can try Exposure adjustment layer (lightness, brightness fine too) with a mask for base shadows. Soft light with 50% value to color shadows/light. Color dodge with very low value can be used to give some areas more focus. Multiply at top (or under soft light) to draw ambient occlusion.

But surely ai will be implemented (and already implemented) in many pipelines as enhanced "T9", less sintax writing, more thinking.

There's only 3 reasons why company can do massive lay offs.
1. too much workers - too small amount of tasks. (post covid lay offs)
2. not enough money to pay people. (as example - after investment into empty ai bubble)
3. "Effective" managers (who will be fired after fail with "ai replacement")

AI barely can do simple math and extremely bad coding. Without engineer none of the "effective managers" can make a product, manager can ask ai to "create well secured database" - but manager can't evaluate the result. Also managers not ready to take responsability for mistakes made by ai.
