I commuted via private vehicle to commuter train to subway and then walked three blocks one way to work every morning on a one and a half hour commute for 20 years I was stationed in downtown DC. So 3 hours round trip. It wasn’t dangerous, dirty and I never felt unsafe even during 9/11.

I’m going to continue to listen a Charles Dickens Collection (10 books)that started with Tale of 2 Cities and ends A Christmas Carol. This should keep me busy along with a spare bedroom and some other spaces I plan to clean up and if possible out. The out - depends on the Snow Queen & her plans.
