those are my lived experiences as a transgender woman, a therian, an autistic schizotypal. why wouldn't these ideals and art movements and social attitudes appeal to me?

the various nostalgias and aesthetic and social preferences in my system are all emblematic of how we all live in an effort to fulfill that desire and we do that because repression and the old and normalcy has nearly killed us a thousand times over

ultimately this is a desire to upend the old and create the new like which nobody has ever seen. to pioneer a better world of radical self-expression and a greater collective abstraction of the human experience. my enjoyment of rave and PLURR contribute to this as well

it must past the threshold of what high-art allows as transgression or else it is not transgressive

they're not all there stylistically or intentionality-wise, but they have the right idea because of how moralism is baked into bourgeois reality. any attempt at a surrealist or dadaist revival needs to take notes. the theatre of cruelty needs to be applied to any artwork to be truly transgressive

this isn't to say transgression has no place. but it needs to be evolved as it's currently understood. something cannot definitionally be transgressive anymore unless it goes against bourgeois normalcy and sensibilities. eroguro and furry kink art are on the right paths

i've always enjoyed the avant-garde and have had an undeniable nostalgia for the social movements and leftist attitudes of the early 20th century so i'm just trying to figure out how those things fit into the modern world and my beliefs

futurism in particular as a social movement still has some chance at life because it's fundamentally anti-old whereas its more transgression-focused contemporaries start to fail because transgression has become an acceptable thing in art to the High-Society Fine Art Culture people
