Got my nephew a set of the four Turts for Christmas, in fact. He's gone mad for the green machine in the last few months apparently. Glad I was able to get him them before it all goes pffft.

A real shame tbh, the Mutant Mayhem toys were a great example of a company still trying to produce quality, kid-focused figures offering high value at a low price, much needed in these high-price collector-targeted times. Whatever replaces it will be worse.

TMNT will no doubt survive without Playmates. It wouldn't surprise me if toy companies are already jumping at the bit to try and grab the license. No matter what the incarnation Turtle Toys have sold like gangbusters.

The question is can Playmates survive without the Turtles?
