It's a few hours of forcing yourself to drink something that feels weird. It doesn't even taste particularly bad (not like medicine or anything). Minding the diet in the days before and especially the liquid diet that day will get you to clear sooner at which point you can stop.

For folks afraid of the prep, if you get colon cancer you'll be doing colonoscopies and the prep every few MONTHS! Do it early and it's every 5-10 years.

Doing colonoscopy prep last night, was momentarily indisposed(!) and delivery guy rang my doorbell 8 times in 30 seconds to check that my neighbor's address was right. I thought maybe my house was on fire or something.
