Gaming is interesting. 85% of games will run fine via Proton.

Once you get to multiplayer ones, you’ll find even running a VM with GPU pass through won’t work due to anti-cheat.

I hope the push from Microsoft after the CrowdStrike fiasco will remove the industry standard of kernel hooking malware.

What exactly are you thinking of moving? Laptops, desktops, the whole hog?

I had an intense period in my early to late teens where I was a Linux zealot. Ordered 10s of free Ubuntu CDs to give out at school.

Now just Fedora on my Framework, and Windows on the desktop for gaming (but with WSL).

Should be quite stable, I’ve had it in a cluster for about 8 months writing to an NFS mount.

Not sure what the spam protection is like on BSky. Hopefully blatant stuff like this is easy to block.

How are you planning to forward any specific game TCP/UDP ports?
