It’s pretty long, 20-25 hours of you 100% and it’s really up there with the best in the genre. Well worth it.

I should give it a couple more tries, but usually end up playing an actual Metroidvania afterwards because it wasn’t satisfying. Same happens with Dead Cells even though I really like it.

It’s because it’s a “real” exploration game where they don’t immediately point you in the right direction, which I love personally. But it’s also really excellent at its world building so I think it becomes obvious where you need to go.

Excellent game. Well worth it at any price, and a steal at this one.

Playing it right now, still think Aeterna Noctis and Astalon have it beat right now.

Agreed, Control has Metroidvania elements but doesn’t feel like one.

I found it too rogue and not Metroid enough for my taste. Really wanted to love it, even have a physical copy on Switch. Unfortunately my brain just can’t stand losing progress, and except for Hades, I’ve never gelled with a rogue game.

Top 5 Metroidvania. A steal at that price!
