True change happens only in the present. When I write without editing or overthinking, I open up to the raw beauty of now, together with its messy, crunchy parts. This is where healing and creativity meet.

What are you building more capacity for in 2025?

Sharing our writing, whether polished and edited to clever perfection always feels vulnerable. Because the most impactful writing is truthful writing. And truth, whether in fiction or not, is vulnerable.

Sometimes typing furiously is exactly what this brain needs. But most of the time nothing hits quite like handwriting with my blue Bic pen in my cheap Hilroy 5 subject notebook. There’s something so sensual about handwriting, don’t you think? Smearing the ink in pretty loops down the page. Yum!

Hi! I’m super new around here. Finding my way to connecting with fun and creative people who are intentional about their life. Is that you?

This is the ultimate healing from judgment and criticism that prevent people from shining their brilliance. Thank goodness for this rebellious group rising up!" – Juliet Kaczmarek

Favourite takeaway from a participant in this morning’s Unbind Your Voice writing workshop: “I don’t suck at writing!”
Nope
You don’t
Not when your words are authentic to you!

Yesssss!
My mum needs to work in publishing. She said to me that all writers should get paid every time they complete an edit 😂 I wholeheartedly agree with her

Reclaiming your voice is so much more than speaking up. It’s feeling safe to express what’s true for you even if it’s uncomfortable.

The words pour out of my pen
In the middle of the night
When the moon is awake
And I wish could sleep

It’s nearly the end of November, a month to write. Did you get to write daily?
What did you write?

Wonderful play! I enjoyed learning a bit of history. Courageous man, Nye! And amazing performance from the cast!
Great to get such lovely response to the free screenings of NYE on YouTube. Glad you enjoyed. X

At my recent writing group, a participant said, "I’m not a writer” and proceeded to write the most fun piece that had us laughing!

This is what happens when you show up. Writing isn’t about being “a writer” or having the perfect words- it’s about putting pen to paper and letting yourself play.

It’s the 10th anniversary of my first and only real book - “The Art of Asking, or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Let People Help”, with a forward by Brené Brown - hitting The NY Times Bestseller list.

I think it may be time to write the sequel. I’ve learned a hell of a lot since 2014.

Writing feels vulnerable even when you don’t show it to anyone.

It’s facing yourself on the page.

It’s quite the experience 😜

Woke up feeling a bit like an alien today.
What is all this about?
Maybe that’s the Pluto Aquarius thing?

Ever feel like writer’s block has its own personality? Like it’s stubbornly sitting there, saying, "Nope, not today!"

All our blocks are like that. That's their usual stance on most things.

What if we could get curious about that block instead of fighting it?

I’ve definitely had thoughts and stories I felt I "shouldn’t" say or even admit to, especially out there in the world. And write them down? Nope!

But I’ve embraced my human imperfections this past year. 2024 has been a year of reckoning and RECLAIMING in so many ways.

Writing has been my freedom 😜

It's not critique of grammar or structure that builds a strong writer but knowing the experience of those who receive their written words.

That’s why writing in community is magic.
