first painting of the year/semester! angle is kinda weird bc i was looking down at the glass instead of straight ahead but other than that i like it. it was also my first time painting translucency and it gave me a headache ngl

if you made art this year, you did well. a sketch, even if it was scrapped ; a poem, even if it was deleted — mattered. you put thought to paper, you engaged with the creative alchemy of turning feeling to something tangible. doesn't matter if you weren't productive "enough." or good "enough."

that post-finals limbo when youre done with all ur classes and u can finally relax but your brain won’t stop making u feel like there’s still more work to do and having to constantly remind yourself that you’re free 😭

this is one of my first times trying to paint impasto (oil paint mixed w wax medium to make it thicker) with only a palette knife minus the background and honestly i owe any success to the color theory class i took last semester
