Freelance copyeditor, indie author, traveler, maker of scrumptious food, and puzzle put-er-together-er.
Writing even when I'm on vacation. A quiet morning in our self-catering home in Christchurch. Got in late last night, had a lovely sleep, and now I'm waiting to start the day.

We left Vegas at 8.30 p.m. on Wednesday, left San Fran after midnight & arrived in Auckland after 10 a.m. on Friday. It was a slow-moving first day while we gained our bearings, but it ended with some delicious Vietnamese food. Today starts with a cup and some adventure planning. #travel #newzealand

Picking up this old cross stitch project while watching A Quiet Place: Day One. I watched it on one of the flights to/from Scotland last fall and figured it deserved a second viewing that wasn't relegated to the discomfort of an airline seat.

Slowly worked my way through the "The World of King Arthur" puzzle with art by Adam Simpson. One of three #jigsawpuzzles I brought home from Scotland last fall. Love all things Arthurian legend related!

I know I'm in their territory, but I thought we had an agreement that I can go outside during the day unbothered & they can prowl outside at night unbothered. This one was under a brick & it got smooshed, but it did also unflatten itself & curl its tail. Even in death it wanted to fight me.

I edited a good chunk of a client's manuscript this morning and I'm officially out of office until Monday. Until then, making a dent in this puzzle and watching some hockey.

No one said I led an exciting life 😆

A well-deserved day off from work means muffins can occur!

I try to spend the first hour of each day with a cup of coffee and a book. Current read is something I picked up in Scotland in November. A sequel to Frankenstein and a love letter to women in science.

Two of my favorite pastimes: #bobsburgers and #writing.

Been trying to find a good balance of editing for my clients and working on my own projects. Picked up a Rhodia dotpad from Blick when we were in Detroit and I'm determined to fill it with endless story ideas.

Just finished this piece in pen and ink. I think he might be getting too big for his zigurat.

San Jose Sharks at Detroit Red Wings, January 14, 2025.

Got seats five rows from the glass, just beside the home bench. Wild to see a game this close up. A poor loss but still a lot of fun.

Reviews for my supernatural thriller, Woebegone, make me squee like an idiot. I put thirteen years of my life into this book and seeing that my readers (so far) have loved what I created reminds me that my writing has a place, has worth. Maybe Woebegone gets a second book?

I never had the opportunity to attend any NHL games growing up because I lived in Hawaii and we only visited Michigan during summers. After attending my first #nhl game last March (Detroit @ Vegas), I vowed to get to Detroit to experience this firsthand.

I'm also a freelance copyeditor who's been working with indie authors for almost four years. I love all genres, but I especially enjoy sci-fi, fantasy, and horror manuscripts. I love all my clients, and I'm so proud to be associated with such talented writers.

I'm an indie author who published a supernatural thriller called Woebegone last October after working on it for thirteen years. Would love to connect with other authors and readers!
