We need to Never Forget the 120,000 people of Japanese ancestry, including 70,000 American citizens who were and put into “camps”. 40 years later camp survivors who died before 1988 never received an apology or $20,000 for so called “redress”.

The 442nd Regimental Combat Team
was an extraordinary U.S. Army unit in World War II, composed almost entirely of Japanese American (Nisei) soldiers who became the most decorated unit in U.S. military history.

Around 1,862 Japanese Americans died in U.S. concentration camps. FDR’s rhetoric was towards his citizens. My American born grandparents didn’t die in camp but their lives were forever scarred by their governments brutality. My grandparents died before 1988 & never an apology or compensation.

A comparison to the Nazis death hell camps and our American born citizens put in barbed wire hell camps cannot be made. Hitler had one gruesome goal. In America my grandparents who were born in California were given no provable legal reason to be jailed. We just look different.
