Buddhist texts, especially the Yogacara and Madhyamaka, and some pessimistic and skeptical thoughts about contemporary things
To label American Buddhists as "white Buddhists" and "non-white Buddhists" sounds strange.

A more significant difference might (imho) be that between Western (converted) Buddhists, and Asian-American (traditional) Buddhists. Not between "white" (= Jewish?) and "non-white" (= Asian?).

In Madhyantavibhagabhasya 4.1 the purpose of "mindfulness towards the body" is to realize this subtle form of suffering.

maybe this planet is suffering from to much passionate participation in the world

less passion (pathos), more calmness of mind, might be a good idea

I got some doubts recently about "engaged" Buddhism, and other modernist forms of the Dharma that encourage being active "in the world"
