Potential health implications include: ® • Organ Damage: Studies have reported abnormal lung scans (such as ground-glass opacities) and heart inflammation (myocarditis) in some asymptomatic individuals. The virus can cause damage throughout the body, including to the kidneys and brain. • Long COVID: Even people who are completely asymptomatic during the initial infection can develop long-haul symptoms, which may appear months later. These symptoms can be debilitating and include fatigue, brain fog, shortness of breath, and loss of smell or taste. • Immune System Overdrive: The absence of symptoms does not mean the body is unaffected. The immune system may still go into overdrive to fight the virus, leading to inflammation and potential organ damage.
