Part of the reason I always tried to avoid gift-giving holidays and rituals is because anytime I did try to participate, my gifts were always either rejected or met with apathy. It seems this hasn't changed, and I'm sure, in one way or another, it's my own fault.

Sometimes I think about the fact that American doctors exist just to gatekeep us from the medicines and procedures we need to get well, and how most of us would be better off trusting our own research and having the freedom to just order and pay for whatever tests and procedures we actually need.

In case you were wondering what sort of people are mad at Bao and Shondo right now. Searching either of their names on social media is a great way to bolster the number of racists and sexual predators on your block list.

Any time people go to events/concerts/conventions, they always come back with covid. No one even acknowledges it anymore. They just act like it's totally normal to be deathly ill after going out and doing anything. It's actual madness. Lemmings just walking off a cliff over and over again.

I'm actually afraid that it might no longer be possible for me to feel a genuine connection with another human being. I just don't think I can ignore the feelings of betrayal, distrust, and disappointment. The people I used to trust were supposed to be better and smarter than all of this.

It's terrifying how people have deluded themselves into believing that all the awful stuff they see people say on social media is "just twitter." Do you really still buy into the idea that social media doesn't reflect the realities of our society? Denial only enables the cancer to grow unchecked.

It's been years and years since I even considered downloading fansubs or pirating anime in any way... but the offensively awful quality of subtitles on Crunchyroll is making me seriously reconsider. Streaming is obviously more convenient, but what's the point if the shows are being butchered.
