Is it time to wheel out the 'Llama drama ding dong' headline?

Cornucopiae are quite often veritable, too.

Bit niche, and not very good: Murderbot (although does it count if it's also the protagonist?)

But narrators are still de rigueur in reality formats, which the kids watching will probably have seen far more of than long-form drama.

That explains why the bubble is bursting where the pin isn't. Also the fingers.

Especially when, as happens not infrequently, the pop-up won't let you scroll back beyond 1992.

Isn’t flying *everywhere* pretty much a straight line?

(Ok, a great-curved line. Still)

Ikr. Just awful, like a teenager's concept design. Random accents, weird spits and spots of skeuomorphism, and slow slow slow to boot.

*Maybe* they'll tame it in time for release, but if this is their chosen direction I'm not hopeful.

That’s a rounding error I can ignore with good conscience.

However, you’re right that it was decades ago and almost certainly longer true. Fortunately my dating years (thankfully before ‘the apps’) are also some way behind me.

I'm 5'11 and *absolutely fine* with that. But for years I genuinely thought that being 180cm (the height I'd been measured) meant I was 6' (which it turns out is more like 183cm), and was mortified when I realised my mistake that people would think I was someone who lied about being 6'.

But what if they’re messing with you?

It happens quite a bit. Remember the criticism of the media’s choice of photos of Axel Rudakubana - I’d bet that similarly the ones they used were just the ones they had, no intentional bias.

And while yes, that means the image they’ve presented of him is quite misleading, that’s not necessarily the result of their choice or bias, rather his favourable representation of himself.
May 30, 2025 at 6:22 PM
How so? I’m just saying that it’s not surprising that his appearance in the flesh - a bit fat, a bit sad - is not reflected in the pictures he’s chosen to put on social media over the years, which are the ones most easily available to the news media.
May 30, 2025 at 6:22 PM
Where do you think ‘the media’ got their photos from?
May 30, 2025 at 6:08 PM
A 53-year-old man having mostly photos of when he was young, thin and happy on his social media, you say? *Extraordinary*

Which one of us does not?
