Very excellent 15 today @brunellobob.bsky.social . First time trying this Potazzine Riserva bottling (quite rare, small production and they only made 15 and 19 vintage recently). It is worth trying, despite price could be bit more friendly. Pretty much peaking now, at least for my palate

Continuing the walk across Montalcino with the recently released BS 19. Excellent, one of the best Ive had from them, very low alcohol, well done @brunellobob.bsky.social . Its not making my top 3 in 19 (still Soldera PdS ValdMon), but then on par with Salvioni and Canalich Montosoli. Only issue

Two convincing 2016 recently. Salvioni more pleasurable at this point, Bassolino with the higher potential I think. Neither reaching heights of recently tasted Madonna del Piano, let alone PdS Riserva, which likely was the best Brunello Ive ever had.

Big disappointment @brunellobob.bsky.social tonight! I had few bottles already in the past, was very promising wine two years ago, shaping up badly right now. Will revisit again in about two years, hopefully it will improve again, but meh today.

Some Brunellos this week @brunellobob.bsky.social . Neither thrilled me in particular, Basso 15 I honestly preferred when it was younger and fresher, while Stella 19 is just heavy, impenetrable and altogether lacking Sangoviese magic imo.

Continued my tasting @brunellobob.bsky.social through Brunello 19. Casanova didnt disappoint, absolutely terrible again imo! This winery is complete blunder.

If I was recently praising Madonna Piano 16, I have to say Poggio Riserva is on whole another level. As good Brunello as I can possible imagine. @brunellobob.bsky.social Masterful

Having this gem for the 2nd time today @brunellobob.bsky.social and again have to agree with your distributor, this is a world class wine, will look to buy more if financial conditions allow:)

Really lovely @brunellobob.bsky.social , much better than I expected after kinda smokey and very unprepared La Casaccia 19. Cheers

Finally opened a wine I wanted to test for a long time @brunellobob.bsky.social . Certainly too expensive and one buys from curiosity, not that I would believe pricing. Anyway very structured, young wine with plenty of acidity still. As I often drink younger wines, here I reckon few years would

Testing the newly bottled PgS, they can do no wrong in my opinion. Once again absolutely fantastic, approachable wine

Classic Brunello @brunellobob.bsky.social to help relax in tumultous times. Getting nicely ready, not an amazing wine imo, but very solid, ageworthy, medium bodied stuff.

Continuing the 2019 journey @brunellobob.bsky.social . Pleasant surprise, dense, delicious and quite ready unlike some Montosoli from Ragnaie say (still need to try Canalicchio). This is very good Montosoli showing.

Cheers from snowy Prague @brunellobob.bsky.social . If not April, we come to Montalcino in person one day. Solid showing from Ragnaie btw, more accessible than Montosoli, but nothing great, didnt catch my heart really.

Little Montalcino lunch greetings @brunellobob.bsky.social . I think good for the money, otherwise not remarkable Brunello.
February 2, 2025 at 3:06 PM
Great bottle frankly @brunellobob.bsky.social , happy to celebrate with the promise of meeting in Montalcino soon:). I would say second best 19 so far for us with wife after Poggio 19. Better than expected and quite approachable, reasonable alcohol level at 14%. Buying Madonna del Piano 19 for sure.

Sending warm regards from Prague @brunellobob.bsky.social , Im sorry for all the troubles with mother nature, hopefully all is more optimistic soon.

Not great, not terrible recent Filo di Seta. Definitely not a fan, wont be buying 2020s @brunellobob.bsky.social , lacks elegance.
January 9, 2025 at 9:23 PM
This is one of the best wines we've ever opened I think @brunellobob.bsky.social

First time having Castello dR Riserva @brunellobob.bsky.social . Very good to great Brunello, not much I can criticise. Not elite anf perhaps for the price not great value, but good stuff nonetheless.

Final Brunello of 2024 is one of the weakest Ive had whole year @brunellobob.bsky.social . This is really poor producer, the fact they are adjacent to Poggio di Sotto is mind-boggling to me. Are they so much worse in winemaking or terroir can change so much from parcel to parcel?

Having Il Marroneto 16 basic for dinner @brunellobob.bsky.social , surprised how good it was. Not a Madonna, but tremendous pleasure, really tasty stuff now. Think 8 years looks optimal for this wine.

Merry Christmas Sir @brunellobob.bsky.social! Tried La Cas 19 today, big disappointment, thinking Eric G made a real mistake making this his first 100 pts Brunello. Cant really feel greatness there, 15% alc and tobacco notes already. We will see in few years, but not hopefuly personally. Merry Ch!

Wines this weekend @brunellobob.bsky.social , young, but reliable Conterno, excellent Vigna del Suolo 16 really, this is starting to peak (of course not as penetrating as Madonna in comparison, but delightful really).
December 22, 2024 at 2:17 PM
I had a nice dinner yday @brunellobob.bsky.social , Madonna 16 confirmed its class once again. Best wine overall I had whole year imo. Ornellaia of course not great, but better than I expected.
