Bring Her Back - Michael & Danny Phillipou (2025)

Wasn't expecting to like this one as much as I did, considering how lukewarm I was on Talk To Me, but this ended up being better in every way. It sidesteps a lot of the issues I tend to have with modern horror. For example, there is color!

Little Miss Sunshine - Faris & Dayton (2006)

Surprised I had never heard of this one until a friend recommended it recently. It had me hooked pretty much all the way, which was surprising when compared to newer roadtrip films I've seen. Maybe it's because Paul Dano is funny to look at?

Getting better at high fear :)

Might be the most fun build I've gotten so far

Hades 2 (PC)

Honestly, I thought the first Hades was something that couldn't be improved upon but the sequel has felt better to play in pretty much every way, keeping me hooked basically since I bought it. Just yesterday I completed the final steam achievement, and I still wanna keep playing!

XCOM 2 Long War Of The Chosen (PC Mod)

Don't think I can ever go back to playing regular XCOM after putting this mod on to be honest. Every choice feels more impactful, the campaign feels more varied, the strategic layer actually exists... It's fantastic

Us - Jordan Peele (2019)

One of those films I should have been more eager to check out when it first came out. I loved it from start to finish

Been busy and forgot to update this one for a while...

Anyway, Sinners - Ryan Coogler (2025) was the most engaging movie I've seen in a long time and it's one I'm looking forward to watching again

Got the opportunity this week to visit Esrange, the Swedish rocket-launching center, and get a guided tour of the facility. Unfortunately we were not allowed to take photos outside the launchtower-room.

Also took the opportunity to look at Sami art and explore the nature around Abisko canyon

Digimon Story Time Stranger (2025)

Another one I've only played the demo for. In a world where pokemon games are getting uglier and uglier, it's soothing to see digimon knock it out the park like this. Gorgeous game with so many nice QOL-improvements over the last title

Aethermancer (2025)

Only played the demo for this one, but enjoyed it a whole lot. Gorgeous to play and the gameplay mechanics all seemed fun and well thought-out. Looking forward to when I have time to play the full release

Synecdoche, New York - Charlie Kaufman (2008)

Watched this like a month ago but wanted to give it some thought before writing anything about it. Suffice it to say, it's given me a lot to think about.

I don't think I've ever seen a movie be so big and so small simultaneously

Trying out this game again

Vivarium - Lorcan Finnegan (2019)

Mac and Dennis move to the suburbs (2016).

You're Next - Adam Wingard (2011)

Exactly the movie that it wants to be. And exactly the one that I want it to be, too!
August 15, 2025 at 10:35 PM
Challengers - Luca Guadagnino (2024)

This one had me hooked. Like a good sports anime crossed with a good 2010s comedy crossed with a good gay porno

How to Write a Scientific Paper - Jari Saramäki (2018)

Not a PhD student but for sure a lot of good tips for a Masters student as well in this one. Academia would be a lot less unappealing if more people who write papers would read this one

These are the critters I ended up finishing the game with. The game has too many neat designs to only use nine, though

Ni No Kuni Wrath of the White Witch (2013)

Played this as a kid when it came out and have a lot of fond memories that it still lives up to. I was planning to move on to another game after doing the story, but ended up doing the post-game, all errands, s-rank in the solosseum, and tons of blackjack

Barbarian by Zach Cregger (2022)

I don't think any movie has ever taken me on a ride quite like this one. If it's for better or for worse is something I think I'll need a few days to figure out.

They should do one about Uber next

Austin Powers: The spy who shagged me (1999)

Austin Powers is so cool. The only thing that could make him cooler is if he wasn't so mean to fat people

Ratchet & Clank 2 Going Commando (PS2)

One of my favorite games as a kid, still one of the best games of all time. Apart from aesthetics, which I think the first one does better, this has to be my favorite of the first three. Lots to do but not bloated, and challenge mode makes it fun to 100%
