Northern Harrier 11/21/24, Eastern North Carolina. This is the only harrier in North America. This is a female. The males are gray above and have a dark trailing edge on the wings. In winter, Northern Harriers roost communally on the ground, often together with Short-eared Owls. #birds #photography
