I have zero problem with a low threshold for death threats, even ones that are obviously not but a song reference on review.

But bluesky's mods have been too obviously biased and arbitrary (even by the standards of how moderation will always be judged). And their coms about it are terrible

Just admit you don't know what you're doing moderation-wise.

And hire some people who actually do. There are a lot of experienced folks on here who would LOVE to make this a successful, consistent, well-messaged project.
