Also this one. For those of you who are fans of bodily autonomy. And those who think the UK Supreme Court can stick their ruling.

Print testing some new linos tonight. Have come to the conclusion that my life would be much better with a press.

The tiny garden my (fake grass loving) neighbour likes to call an eyesore.
In a month or so, this little space will be overflowing with beans, sunflowers and raspberries. It will be vibrant with insects, see blackbirds stop by, smell of blossoms, be explored by my kids.
That’s my kind of eye-sore.

Time for this, I think.

Finally getting around to this, after many (many) bookstagram recommendations.
Hoping it’s much better than the (unnamed) book I just finished, which felt like the author took a load of fantasy tropes, squished them all together, and added an unnecessary and hollow-feeling level of spice.

Today is an absolute binfire, so here’s a picture of some fancy ducks I stumbled upon during my morning walk.

Good morning from a sunny Calderdale

Absolute highlight of my week seeing this little bundle of cuteness and Lyme yesterday. Many squees were sounded.

Until next week, Leeds 👋

Started our contribution to our local food system earlier this year.

Hoping to get these ripe enough to gift some by the end of the season - it turns out people aren’t too keen on green tomatoes here.

Also added today (from seed):
Cucumber
Courgette
Sunflowers
Poppies, &
Sweetpeas

Small political act #2

If you can, get outside. Get to know your local flora and fauna, see what we all stand to lose. Tell others what you see, and encourage them to get outside too.

If it’s not safe for you to do this, tell people that. Everyone should have access nature.

Gave blood. Bought a load of heavy books. Climbed the rather steep hill to my house.

Feeling a bit rubbish and infinitely stupid right now.

Anyway, if you can, go donate blood. And do listen to the phlebotomists when they tell you not to be foolish.

Just finished Yellowface. Astounding narrative of how white privilege skirts white supremacy, and how the two can overlap. Interesting look at the coldness and isolation of the publishing industry too. Certainly a book set to run through your head for a good while afterwards.

Making slow-reduce rosemary, red onion and red wine gravy.

Meat-eating husband’s favorite, and yet entirely meat free.*

*This may be a lie, but it may also be because he only ever makes instant gravy for himself.

Snow again. Because of course.

Day two of Acts of Micro-Positivity, and on Thursdays we grow… not always quite as literally as this, but first tomato seeds are potted!
Tigerella are a great variety if you live in the cooler, wetter North of England. Last year we planted late though, so didn’t have time to ripen many…

Since it’s #SharingWednesday, I dropped off a book at the Little Free Library outside my office on campus.
A tiny little thing that, hopefully, will offer someone a book to enjoy.
Also gratifying to see the ones I left there last week have disappeared!
