When I get a newsletter/advertising email from any company that uses emojis, I don't even open it. It goes in the trash immediately.

Crossing the floor in the House of Commons has a long and honourable pedigree - witness Winston Spencer Churchill, who did it twice.
It’s the one way in which a backbench MP, normally almost powerless, can stand up to their party leader when he incessantly insists on behaving like a jerk.

That right there. That’s the truth.
Bandwagon math.

Losing would bring more hurt than a win would bring joy.

I should have done that calculation a week ago.

We watched "The Wickerman" from 1973 last night. I thought it was a soft porn musical with bad (over) acting. How this movie ever got the 7.5 rating on IMDB is beyond me. If you want to watch a truly scary "old" movie, look for the 1963 "The Haunting".

The annual GDP of Jamaica is 20 billion. They estimate the storm damage at 22 billion. It will take more than what the Jamaicans can muster to rebuild that country.

Don't ask God why he allowed so much misery in this world. He provided enough for everyone to be happy, but we're not sharing the wealth. Instead, we're destroying nature. We ignore injustice. We look away from need. Don't ask God to fix what we messed up.

I wonder how long this will stay up. I cannot see this lasting very long. I hope he has cameras everywhere.
This is amazing. And it’s truly the stuff of nightmares.

I was thinking yesterday, if the US can turn this ship around and get rid of the crazies, this can be fixed. After WWII, a lot of historic monuments in Germany (and elsewhere) were bombed to ashes, but they were rebuilt and look like they did before. It can be done.
Walked by the White House today. Saw what appeared to be two tall excavators still at work. It’s hard to see from the street, but this article shows how the new ballroom will likely dwarf the White House.

How Trump’s ballroom will dwarf the White House
Trump’s new 90,000-square-foot White House ballroom would be almost as large as the rest of the complex.

American has become a caricature of her former self. A cesspool of corruption and human rights violations that rivals that of any 3rd world country. When will the American public wake up? We saw 7 million protest last week. That should have been 70 million.
Trump pardoned billionaire Binance crypto founder with ties to Trump family. He admitted to money-laundering violations that allowed terrorists, drug traffickers and other criminals to move money on the platform. No prob for criminal Trump
