From that tragic incident a campaign formed - Refugees for Justice - that saw Badreddin, not just as the perpetrator of violence, but as a victim of a hostile asylum system. Today at least one of those who he stabbed was outside the court demanding answers to why he was fatally shot.

"When I was 16 I was barricading myself in my flat because I didn’t feel safe. And we are hearing is this is still happening," David Anderson, chair of the Promise Oversight Board, told me ahead of its mid-way report, out this Wed.

Last year I reported from LA and Glasgow about how stateside Homeboy Industries had inspired a youth project back in Scotland's Maryhill. So it's lovely to see pictures of Homeboy founder Father Gregory visiting G20 last week (along with the FM).

Went past the Citz for a first time in a while today. Exciting to see progress ahead of its opening this year despite the delays and spiralling costs. I saw my first ever play there...way back when under director Giles Havergal. Special place.
