Revisiting the last few stanzas of my spoken word piece “Executive Disorder” -

And on eggshells we’ve all started to walk
as Brownshirted agents patrol the sidewalks—
they sneak and they stalk,
tasked to quell any talk
of genocide in op-eds or on campus lots.

The Democratic Party is an exclusive club that hired a bunch of ushers when what they needed were bouncers.

As I try to expand my social media activism presence, I’ve started using Threads and Bluesky. (Threads is going better and I’m not likely to spend much time here tbh.) Anyway, being that I’m getting to be an old, I keep forgetting the name of this platform and calling it blue butterfly.

A “match” is two-sided. Only one side was shouting. Do better, @abcnewslive.bsky.social @bbcbreaking-bot.bsky.social @usatoday.com @forbes.com @cnn.com @cnbc.com @reuters.com and everyone else calling it a “shouting match.”

You know what you saw. Report it accordingly.

The suicide rate in the trans community is disproportionately high (as is the veteran suicide rate). Lives are being torn apart. Please, if someone in your unit is trans, check on them.

Tonight #survivor premiers. It’s a good time to remember that sometimes you have to form alliances with people you don’t trust beyond one action.

Here’s one way to word it when you recognize you voted for a very bad thing:

“Honestly, I wasn’t paying attention beyond the things I cared about. Now that I’ve sat with it, I realize all of the repercussions of my vote. I do not support Trump’s actions. What can I do to help fight this?”

Never thought I’d see the day when the U.S. would side with North Korea and Russia or refuse to acknowledge Putin is a dictator, but here we are. But I guess it’s about time people see we really aren’t always the good guys.

Trump repeatedly claiming that it is Zelensky’s fault that Russia invaded the country and started a war

Trump conditioning you to believe it’s Greenland or Canada’s fault if the U.S. invades them to forcibly take territory they wouldn’t willingly give him.

I think the reason my video about the sleddogs I wasn’t expecting to cross in front of our truck on our drive through the Yukon has gone viral is the obvious joy, which is hard to come by these days.

As a freelance journalist, I understand that papers need to pay writers and people need to pay for papers. But how much of Americas ignorance is due to paywalls?

I’m usually lenient toward non-violent criminals but the White House’s explicit statement that the U.S. doesn’t want criminals, as a literal convicted felon holds the highest office, is making me sick to my stomach. He’s above the law. That should scare everyone.

People were screaming “he’s a dictator!” about Obama when they knew he wasn’t. They weakened the word and now think it just means “president I don’t like.” And so now that someone presents a true threat, people don’t understand the danger of an real dictatorship.

@nationalparkservice erasing the transgender community from the website *for a monument designated to honor, specifically, the fight for LGBTQ+ rights* is watching words and communities disappear, in real time. *There are words that the government is not allowing people to say.*

Here’s how I feel about Trump voters (and how it’s no longer reasonable to say they’re being conned—they know exactly what they’re getting and they wanted this). This is what’s happening to America.
