More than nonpartisan, I'm anti-partisan. Will listen to any POV on civic topics if expressed rationally: 1) Identify the problem; 2) discuss solutions; and only then 3) say which politician will help. Main interest: Free, fair, and secure elections.
DJT saying "I will campaign against you" is now just about 50/50 whether it's a promise or a threat, and looking more 'promisey' every day.

Just curious: What do you suppose Melania does on a normal day? How does she spend her time?
December 8, 2025 at 11:26 PM
No! It is VERY IMPORTANT to remember it's happening because 272 Republicans in Congress have utterly abandoned their sworn oaths to serve their constituents and uphold the Constitution. Keeping this fact front and center is key to being able to put a halt to the criminality in 2026.

Are congressional Republicans EVER going to wake up and do their sworn job?
November 30, 2025 at 12:13 AM
I cannot wrap my head around why Republicans imagine that Democrats (those who are not in the Epstein files) will regret having everyone who IS in those files revealed, regardless of party. Projection, I guess.

Because. They. Don't. Care. About. Children.

Who's with me? In the spirit of PT Barnum, we manufacture a line of "MAGA LOYAL" jewelry and market it to MAGA-heads as the must-have accessory to show fealty to the Dear Leader?
November 12, 2025 at 1:34 AM
Well, if the Donald says we've collected $3 trillion in tariffs so far, that must be true. Right?
November 12, 2025 at 12:29 AM
Damn, I hope you're right. Thanks for the hopeful reply.
November 11, 2025 at 4:17 AM
Specifically, how do we pressure 'up' on the spineless Dems in Congress who caved on the gov't shutdown in exchange for promises from people who have never delivered on a promise in their lives?
November 11, 2025 at 12:26 AM
Trump said that? Is he still capable of speaking in complete grammatical sentences when in private?
November 5, 2025 at 10:10 PM
Yeah, it's not a selective virus--I've seen it in people of all political persuasions, not just Christians who imagine someone has been preventing them from saying "Merry Christmas." I can't think, tho, of anyone who imagines MAGA to be controlling them in any way that MAGA isn't actually trying to.

Is there a name for that delusion that makes you imagine persecution even when there is none (at least none that isn't trivial) and you have to make it up? There should be.

If only the policies and the leadership I believe in were anywhere to be found on my ballot...

These days, the best way to harm DT is to air him speaking unedited.

I can understand that sort of entertainment at a bachelor party. But -- sheesh -- I'll be some of the men were there with their wives. How do the wives feel sitting through that? Ick.

He is kind of a classic, when it comes to being heir to the throne. He already exiled his brother.

I love the idea that you can 'go to TikTok' to 'see for yourself.'
Yikes, someone call Kim's second-grade teacher and tell them they failed with her.

Yes, I see the crossbeam. But why does the fabric appear to be rippling? (I believe NASA, but I would like to understand.)

If I did not want to fix something, I'd be denying it was a problem, or that it existed. I wouldn't be giving the problem a name and talking about it in public.
I'm thinking that in your world, everything is either All Good or All Bad, while in mine, it's useful to perceive things realistically.
October 29, 2025 at 4:03 PM
Yes, it's a factual description of the issue/bug. I, too, have seen articles in which CEOs and others involved with chatbots name and acknowledge the problem. I've never seen anyone deny it exists and needs to be fixed.

Trust the science and wash your hands. CDC estimates for 2025 vaccine: 32%-55% reduction in flu bad enough for an outpatient visit; 49.7% reduction in risk of hospitalization. There is even smaller reduction in risk of getting mild flu, and zero reduction in risk of carrying the virus to others.
October 28, 2025 at 11:15 PM
I dunno. If you assume that it is and will stay programmed to affirm and agree with everything (the 'sycophant' problem the article mentioned), yes, bad. Balance that against good that might come if it's programmed to help, and to identify issues (which it could be and still make $$)...
October 28, 2025 at 11:05 PM
I'm not seeing the downside. The article doesn't say that ChatGPT is *causing* the emotional problems, only revealing them. Would an app that attracted people with cancer and made it apparent be bad? Also what did the researchers consider to be signs of 'mania or psychosis'? I need to know that.
