Irish by birth, Londoner by choice. Just trying to comprehend the insanity of the world.
Most UK natives don’t have A-level English - WTF ?

What happened to @yvettecooper-mp.bsky.social? A couple of years ago I couldn’t have imagined her journey from compassionate to right wing reactionary. At one point I thought she would make a good leader for Labour - I’m beyond disappointed by some of her recent decisions. #familyreunification

There are 4,000 free water refill points and more than 100 water fountains across our city to help people stay hydrated. There are also cool spaces across the capital where you can take a break and cool down.

Check out our Cool Spaces map:

I wish every politician and analyst in the country would read this thread - excellently put as always @nialloconghaile.bsky.social even if it saddens my heart.
This is looking like the worst week for remainers/joiners since Boris Johnson's landslide. And it wasn't because of the new Pope's elevation.

The obstacles to joining the Brussels system are mounting; even the medium term now looks unlikely

Are you a woman who changed your name when you got married?

Congress is considering a bill that could make it much harder for you to vote.

This is batshit, coming not from some conspiracist on the internet but the leader of the opposition. And this is not even the maddest things she has uttered this week!
Kemi Badenoch this morning: "A country cannot be successful if its people and intellectual elite don’t believe in it. This means dealing with the poisoning of minds through higher education."

This case has niggled me a lot, why was it taken? This piece from from Suzanne Wrack captures my concerns better that I could. www.theguardian.com/football/202...
As any woman in the back of a locked taxi knows, Sam Kerr should never have been brought to court | Suzanne Wrack
The Matildas and Chelsea forward won’t be proud of the footage of her in a police station. But her acquittal underlines that the charges and court battle that followed were a waste of time and money

Excellent thread
Seeing as everyone is writing Brexit anniversary pieces, I thought I'd give it a go.

Brexit for 🇪🇺 didn't begin in. 2020 or even 2016.

Brexit began during the financial crisis, with UK blackmail.
