Just spent 4 intense writing workshop days with this incredible man. My head is spinning with new ideas, inspiration, deeper insights. Today I rest, as advised, but tomorrow it's back to the page.

Reminding myself this week that I don’t sit down to write because I feel inspired. I sit down to write so I’ll be there, working & ready to go when inspiration shows up.

In addition to my family and friends, I'm so grateful to these publishers and organizations that saw fit to support my writing this year. On days when the words don't come easily, I have to remember this is a journey. Keep writing, friends! #writingcommunity

New here! I'm a Chicago-based writer, though I've never been able to shake my Wisconsin roots growing up on the back waters of the Mississippi River. I writes stories and essays and although I can be acerbic, I strive to be just congenial enough to hopefully be mistaken for a Canadian.
