11 degrees Fahrenheit is the temperature at which my cat Gus no longer wants to go outside, or even look out through the screen door.

My first vegan Thanksgiving today 🥰🥧🥗🥬🥐🍇🥔 brought to me by Whole Foods Market, but that's okay. I gotta start somewhere.

I had a nightmare my mother became brainwashed again and loved Trump 😬

My coworker Tony said to me last week, "Your hair looks a hundred times fucking better than before." I smiled and said thank you, recognizing the genuine sincerity and warm heartedness beneath his coarse, machinist exterior.

I find it funny it's mainly people in New York City voting no on a proposal to build more winter sports facilities in the Adirondacks. Like, you people never even go to the Adirondacks, what do you care? Lol. At least it passed.

Oh for God's sake, now my religious nut cousin posted a photo of her copy of "Pagan Threat" by Lucas Miles, saying she received 2 copies and would anybody like the second one. I can't even with family members and social media anymore. Now I know why my one cousin lives alone and only talks to plants

Incidentally, being vegan is good for avoiding tempting treats at work. Those cookies someone brought in? Butter and eggs. The Tim Horton's donuts? None of them without animal products. It is testing my willpower, ngl, lol

Transitioning to veganism is even harder than transitioning to vegetarianism, tbh. Just looking at the chocolates in the stores and then remembering, "oh yeah, I need to check the ingredients for milk." Luckily for me I enjoy dark chocolate.

Of all the customs crossings I've been to in my life, never have I been made to feel more unwelcome than at my own country's border. When our bus arrived at the US Peace Bridge from Canada on Monday, they were borderline hostile towards us and almost made us unload all the luggage for inspection.

Coworker dude goes on and on about the laws in NYS for when you're able to shoot an intruder in your own home, and how he bought his gun for defense, and then it turns out his home security system is just his dog. Like, if you're so paranoid about intruders, please buy a security system first.

Ah, my first day back at work since vacation and the factory fumes are working their magic on my sinus cavities, drying them out and ceasing their needless over-production. This is what my body craves, apparently. Not those fresh Mediterranean breezes or recycled cruise ship air.

I'm surprised that Roman Catholic priests are allowed to drink alcohol and get tipsy in public, and also keep touching my shoulder without warning. I'm used to sedate Hindu priests who are not allowed to drink alcohol at all. I prefer it that way. Alcohol doesn't have a place in a spiritual life

I fucking hate rich people and their stupid down filled pillows and duvets. Day 9 of cruise: finally realized the bedding is filled with a major allergy trigger and requested hypoallergenic bedding. Can't wait to come home to Buffalo where I can breathe again.

I love how choppy the waves are and how this giant cruise ship rocks back and forth in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea. It gives me a new appreciation for the trials of Odysseus as he made his way back home.

I don't understand how some people in our group are going to 4 shows tonight when we have to get up at 7 am for a shore excursion. Vacation is the only time I get a hope of sleeping 8 hours a night. There's better shows to see back home in Buffalo, I'm not sacrificing my sleep to see a cruise show.

It's a good thing I'm on a cruise, or else I might be tempted to hop on a train someplace and go off by myself, because my natural inclination is to just go wherever I want and do whatever I want and not be held back by companions. My next trip will be a solo trip. I think I'm brave enough now 😊
October 15, 2025 at 3:16 PM
I'm on Day 5 of the cruise, and I can say with certainty that this is not my preferred method of travel. I feel too spoiled, and like I'm surrounded by a bunch of entitled middle to upper class people. I don't feel comfortable with the level of service the crew provides. It feels fake.

1st day in Rome. Just took a tour of Papa Basilica Papale di Santa Maria Maggiore where Pope Francis is buried, and now we're having lunch at Molino Bakery Bar & Cucina.

No one can convince me that rolling clothes saves more space in your suitcase than folding them. Although I think I'll roll my underwear and use that to fill in the space at the edges of my packing cubes.

I don't understand why Americans think it's perfectly fine for companies to make you work a whole year before giving you a measly 5 days PTO. "You have to work for things." Yeah, but it has to be proportional, okay? Like enough to maintain my mental health.

I really had no idea of the situation over there. I have to admit, I never tried to pay much attention to the Middle East. And apparently it was very hard to get information, let alone people, out of Gaza. This interview was a very sobering eye opener for me.
