It’s Sarah J Maas’ world, I just live in it. Wore some mustard yellow tights this week & strode around feeling like the badass Baba Yellowlegs. AND THEN bestie soon-to-be husband @geoffevans42.bsky.social surprised me with this gift. Whaaaaa. I have to get good acrylic pens from the TikTok shop now

This is 6/8 of ToG. This took me a while because I’ve been so busy and subsequently so tired. Maybe because of these circumstances I didn’t enjoy this as much - a lot more stop/starty. Maas sure does like a deus ex machina. But that’s not to say it’s a bad book in any way. I adore Lysandra. 💙📚

Back to scheduled Maas reading. This was 5/8 in Throne of Glass series and boy are we still going strong. I’ve been flying through 500-page books with the sense of flow that you can lie back and bathe in. I love that Maas can still make me believe that everything is completely fucked (and then..) 💙📚

She’s just refusing to move so I can’t work

I finished it!!!!
-Had no idea what the ending meant so had to Google it and then went “ohhhh shitttt”
-Yarros’ writing of Violet’s squad of friends was lovely; they’re woven together to feel like family
- I love that the trend of no fellatio but Xaden EATS continues 😅
-Better than IF

3 of 8. Liked this one the least so far but I still devoured it with delight. The looooong training in Mistward got a bit boring at times but made up for by flashbacks delving into Celaena’s childhood & the politics thereof. And of course the witches! LOVED the witches. #💙📚 #booksky

I got my first pair of ear defenders today (as opposed to noise cancelling headphones). Oh Lord I am in autistic heaven.

This was book number 2 of 8. Liked it slightly less than its predecessor because sometimes it got a bit convoluted in terms of who knows what, double/triple crossings etc but overall still a stellar read. I gobbled it up and finished feeling like I can’t wait to start 3. #throneofglass #booksky 💙📚

Ok so this was 1 of an 8 book series & it’s safe to say that I’m now here for the full ride. Smooth and enthralling read. I loved this even tho I kept yelling ‘polyamory!’ at the love triangle. Celeana is the Strong Female Character I want; built convincingly as an absolute badass. #booksky #📚💙

Spent the morning at a Golden Retriever cafe pop-up place. I have not smiled so hard in such a long time. I met one called Gordon. I am love with this breed; Goldens are going to be in my future once I get out of this renting scam.

Gonna record the books I read. Mostly not-for-work books but books I read simply for joy (but occasionally one & the same).

This is 0.5 of the Throne of Glass series. I read it before beginning ToG, but since it’s a prequel, few spoilers. Really liked these vignettes & ending stunned me. #booksky

If you feel like playing some cosy games about cute cartoon animals with no peril or danger and you just wander around nice environments, I’d recommend Little Kitty, Big City and Lil Gator Game. They really help with anxiety. I played on pc but I think they’re available on console too.

The Borg Cube encompasses nearly the entire south side of Glasgow. That’s freakin hugeeeeee. Didn’t realise the size of it.

Finished this book recently, as a recommendation from one of my PhD students. It made me very uncomfortable but I think in a way that is important and necessary. Challenged many of my presuppositions. Would definitely recommend. #booksky
