I think grocery prices are going to skyrocket this winter and it will be hard to find fresh produce. So many places around the world had bad harvests. So freeze, dehydrate, can and salt is my motto right now. And I am lucky. I am surrounded by farmers. Today, making tomato sauce. Tomorrow peaches.

Self portrait in the Noel Bullock Gallery for the Face to Face show in Gananoque, Ontario. Wool, silk, cheesecloth. Plus an old pair of my actual glasses, lol. I am pretty pleased with this. #ArtOnBluesky #FeltArtist #Portraits #CanadianArt

Okay Canada! It's September this weekend and now it is time to preserve all that summer goodness! If you are in Ontario, Niagara ( and the Quebec LaChute market) has all the fruits and vegetables you need to preserve for the winter. Get Your Preserve on! #BuyCanadianProduce #SaveMoney #BuyCanadian

On a recent trip to the Maritimes I stopped to film the swallowtail butterflies. I would love to put this plant in my garden!

My garden by the water has been dug up so many times by animals. I planted over 100 garlic bulbs and have only got 5 garlic scapes! #gardeningfailure #Ontario

Is mum bragging allowed on Bluesky? Going to do it anyway. Congratulations to my son Andrew Young for his article on Baron Vastey of Haiti. #worldpoli

A cloudy, damp day. Time for baking and using up oranges and peaches. And yogurt. Two yogurt cakes. Plain with sliced peaches and crystallized orange peel has a slice put of it, while the orange yogurt cake with peaches on top cools.

organicfederation.ca/resource/org... Thank you so much for reaching out. That logo is given to any product that complies with Canadian organic standards. It is not an origin label so while helpful, doesn't let me know about the manufacturing. I, like you, will keep looking! #BuyCanadian #cdnpoli

Dear Loblaws, Metro, Sobeys, etc. I truly appreciate you labelling foods with country of origin. Except you don't do it with house brands. Do it so I know what country I am supporting! #cdnpoli #DoBetterGroceryStores
