I always get wanderlust at this time of year.
Mostly to escape Slade, and mawkish guff.

I liked the look of the tower of All Saints' Church in the skyline of the trees earlier, but when looking at the photo on my return, in the ivy-clad skeleton of the tree on the left, I see Mr Punch wearing a crown, dancing.

surviving son had lived. The lost Palace and gardens she commissioned were said to rival palaces in Castile.
She was intelligent, well educated, went on Crusades with Edward, had 15 children inc. Edward III, and used Langley Palace as a nursery. All in all, a fascinating life, and interesting talk.

Went to a lecture tonight on wife of Edward I, Queen Eleanor of Castile (she of the crosses), which was held in All Saints Church, Kings Langley on the 749th anniversary of her signing a contract to acquire the estate land in Langley. Discovered that we could have had a King Alfonso, if their eldest

The difficult part is writing about it without identifying anyone. I've written a few short posts but some of it only makes sense/is funny if you know who it refers to!
Might give it a try tho & include stuff like the time our tour manager was turned into a spliff on a dull train journey in Germany
