Professional mom and partner trying to find time to also be creative and relaxed.
Just a whole ball of paradoxes

My Chemical Romance came out just when I got a bit less angsty, but this year, my daughter begged me to bring her to the Long Live the Black Parade tour. This was a rule of their fictional, authoritarian nation of Draag. It is resounding this week:

The Guinness record holder for the World's Largest Dreamcatcher is this one here in Rama First Nation, measuring 12.93 m, or 42 feet 5 inches. Made by Dale (Bobbie) Williams in 2024.

It was the Annual Family Picnic today! Beautiful day at the water, happy to spend time with cousins, aunties, uncles; but also this here. The next generation sitting together in spots I remember sitting with my cousins when we were kids. I remember sitting by that tree, playing with bloodsuckers.

35 years ago this night, I went to bed, not knowing or understanding hatred and racism. I went to bed not knowing just how negatively many Canadians & quebecois looked at Indigenous people, Mohawk people, me. The next 78 days of 1990 taught me who I was & what we will always fight for. #landback

Présence autochtones/First Peoples Festival of Montreal has made one of the best Indigenous event posters I have seen in a long time! Not just a teepee, a dancer, and dreamcatcher for a change! Artist Jay Soule.

It is so frustrating to deal with all the time. I had a glimmer of hope when I saw this posting in March in my area. I do wonder if the program is also at risk like YES.
On the flip side, why do we have to have this? Maybe hire some anglophone people instead of burdening them to volunteer?

Those earrings I bought on Sunday, they were meant to be worn with this dress!

I visited the monument in 2015 when my daughter was only two, but I love this photo of us, bringing together our two cultures, onkwehón:we and Irish. Our community of Kahnawà:ke donated the equivalent of $5000 CAD during the potato famine.

Two weeks ago, we had 70 cms of snow. Yesterday started at -23°C and went to about -7°C , but not a cloud in the sky, and the sun was strong.
Spring is coming, I see grass!

In September of 2024, I was in the 6th cohort of the Women and Leadership Program at First Nations Executive Education - Hautes Etudes Commerciales in Montreal. Part of the program includes getting a professional headshot, and we got them today. Continuous improvement!

Crafting in the chaos. I think I will be making a lot over the next while. When I get my groove going on beadwork, I feel so calm
