This is a great movie… Mononoke II.
The animation is beautiful and the Medicine Seller is a fantastic character. Somehow reminds me of Michael Moorcock’s Jerry Cornelius.

Winter is pretty much here 😬. Got my Northampton Saints woolly hat out of storage and the winter beard on… time to go into hibernation soon🤔

“Today, I are mostly drinking Titanic Cherry Porter and re-reading Dune”

(Thank you to The Fast Show, which I have also been re-watching)

Spent the day in Hastings (1066 and all that). Beautiful place, great day😊

Sitting in a terrible pub (Weatherspoons in Bletchley) drinking great beer (Grainstore Rutland Beast) and reading a great book (The Trial, Frank Kafka). A good day by a score of 2-1😁. It’s a book that’s more relevant now than it has been for decades. Chilling, bizarre, nightmareish and recognisable.

Just re-read this after several years. It is every bit as great as I remembered. One of my favourite novels of all time…

One of my many favourites

I wonder how much Joe Root had to pay to get given the number 66 for the England cricket team? Personally, I would have paid a years salary as a bribe to whoever was responsible for assigning the numbers😂

I want this bike🥹 Triumph Bonneville Bobber. Even though I was nearly killed by an unlicensed, uninsured taxi driver on my last bike. I still want it. I’m in love😍. Lightning can’t strike twice, right? Right?

Good lord, my homebrew London Porter is excellent 😁. 2nd pint, and I can tell you it’s ferociously strong. And cricket highlights on the tv. Happy day😁.

Love this T-shirt from Eng v Ind test match today… and despite the pineapple, this is Birmingham, England 😂
India completely outplayed England, absolutely superb play.

This remarkable lady, shown centrally on all 3 panels, is Lady Anne Clifford, Countess of Dorset, Pembroke and Montgomery (1590-1676). She was a highly intelligent, educated, tough mined, fiercely independent woman in a time when that was rare, even unique. She fought her whole life for her rights.

I on a coffee break from writing my essay. I now know more about men gaining dominance and control over female midwives in 15-18th century Europe than I ever thought I would need to🤔
