I’m a lemon hummus stan. When I can’t find the one I want I just get plain & add lemon juice, pepper, and that pink sea salt (or maybe adobo, depends on the day). Definitely a good base for all kind of flavors/spices!

Apparently what you forgot is that she’s performed with her dad, Krist, & Pat before and what matters is that Krist & Pat are good with it. Which they are.

Clapping for you and that COAT!

It’s literally 3 surviving Nirvana members on stage. Are you as bitter about the other 3 women who performed with them? It wasn’t her first time singing with them, either, she’s done it at other charity events. Plumbers kids become plumbers, you mad about that too?

Who’s paying them? You realize this isn’t one big employer, right? Lots of sub-sub contractors, etc. Freelancers who haven’t even been contracted yet? Your idea is sweet but impractical.

Again, people haven’t been working at their usual capacity for YEARS because of COVID & the strikes.

You’d be taking away work from the thousands of people connected to awards season, from production staff to cater waiters. Makeup artists. Hair stylists. Drivers.
January 17, 2025 at 1:45 PM
What if you barely worked the last 5 years because of Covid & 2 strikes and were counting on awards season money to pay your bills?
January 17, 2025 at 1:44 PM
In a discussion about this year’s Oscars, which was the original topic? Kind of relevant.
January 16, 2025 at 2:06 AM
Ok, but that isn’t the case RIGHT NOW, is it. This is about this year’s award season, not the 2049 award season.

If they’ve been hired already.
January 15, 2025 at 8:25 PM
Here’s a novel thought - who is paying them? We’re talking thousands of people, many of whom are sub-sub contractors, hired by celebs directly (nominations aren’t even out yet so that hasn’t happened), hired by venues throwing after parties, etc. etc. etc. It’s not one employer paying employees.

Reality is people in the industry need work. Taking it away from them helps no one. If you want to support locals, employing the people who are able to work and need the money is one way to do that. Thousands of people rely on awards season for their income.
