Down Home Blues was my fave as a kid. My dad would give me money for the juke box and that was always my choice.

I love(d) this song, and particularly liked that my grandmother identified with the part that goes: I missed my bus, I know I’m late, I gotta do something I know I hate. I gotta walk to work . . .

I was thinking about Scott today and the brief time I spent as his student at a Cold Spring Harbor Drosophila genetics class and was saddened to learn of his passing. He was an excellent teacher and made a significant impact. I'm grateful to have known him and will continue to think of him fondly.
