Thank you. This edit, which reflects reality rather than RFK Jr's orthodoxy, is necessary to be accurate.

And there were already issues with shortages in those fields, at least in part, because of student loans. This is a total body blow that will decimate them. It is truly horrific, but too wonky for a lot of people to get riled up enough to defeat it.

Good thing the Regime RIF'd the people who would help ensure this poison was removed before it sickened more *babies* with a potentially fatal toxin.

I hope Cassidy (an MD) can sleep with the cries of infants suffering from vaccine preventable diseases screeching in his ears. And his negotiated disclaimer isn't worth anything, nor does it mitigate his culpability. In some ways, it makes it worse.

The argument that the free market will work to bring down costs where demand is inelastic and barriers to entry are high is disingenuous. It doesn't follow basic economic pronciples. And the US has spent the last 80 years disproving the theory.

E.g. demand for movies is very elastic (-0.87). People will forgo movie visits and stay in during tough times. Pediatric healthcare visits are down at -0.03 to -0.06. Basically, the closest you can get to total inelasticity in a market where the goods still have to be purchased. 3/

The more inelastic the price, the closer to 0 the measure of elasticity gets. It's unsurprising then that pediatric healthcare in the US is almost a perfect 0, well above the elasticity measurement of health insurance generally, which is still very inelastic. 2/
