Surgery went very well. Recovery is going okay, no issues.
I do however feel like the description I heard recently where someone compared grief / healing to the in-between phase for caterpillar to butterfly - when they are basically goo.
Very much in the goo right now.

Hello from me and the zinnias.
My oncotype score came back a 9. No chemo. 🙏 I’m healing. My exchange surgery is soon. I had a phone call this week w/ my future *survivorship* navigator. I started Tamoxifen. The emotions are finally hitting me. I’m exhausted. I’m okay.

My month of April … I have breast cancer. (sigh. shit.) U/S led to biopsy on April Fools’ Day (so thats how this is going to go huh, universe? cute.)
Today I’m preparing for surgery in a few weeks. (as I joked with a friend well, that escalated quickly)

🧶 Finished object Friday: finally circled back to knitting the socks I cast on at Christmas. I love them and they are as close to matching as I ever get with self-striping yarn.
🧶 Bonus: there is enough yarn leftover to fix the socks Otis “helped” with (most of that yarn I could save but not all)

I finished socks for Lu today. If I come across a Pink Floyd inspired sock yarn I know it’s going to eventually become a pair for her. She’s been patiently waiting for these.

These scrappy striped monster socks turned out to be thigh highs, because that just happens when I am knitting sometimes.
I made them a few years ago. They are cozy, and a favorite pair, that’s for certain.

Aside from dishcloths, I only finished knitting two things in December: the pair of socks in the quoted post below I gave to J and I gave these socks to A. Considering I didn’t think I’d do any gift knitting at all, two pairs of warm socks for people I love is pretty nice. 🧶
