A holder of sleeping adults? Dear Norm, what have I done?

Every time one of us lies down, I’ll worry that we’ll end up closer to the floor than is proper for adults of our age.

I’m not ready to have built something that’s literally supporting us. A holder of napkins? Sure. A holder of letters, a holder of food? Can do.

It was too much, too big, too difficult. And I can’t just say “phew, that’s done” because Anne and I will be sleeping on it every night until we can’t. So every creak will be a mocking rebuke. Every loose joint will be a devilish grin.

Terrible nights sleep. Coffee is too weak. Sitting on my back porch watching squirrels and nuthatches. Not too bad I suppose.
