I love how this avi is coming together and am really excited for it, so I hate to come in with what sounds like discouragement, but I have to ask: does this still happen it 2-4 of this same avi come close together?

These birds are amazing

- blast resistant (e.g. EOD suit-type styling) around the legs, as I would think they're more likely to be susceptible to kinetic force knocking/tearing them away than a bullet's piercing them. Something to more to brace them and less to channel blast force, though.

In terms of uniform, a drider would probably have either a relatively bare abdomen or a sort of button-together top-and-bottom arrangement that left the legs bare. In terms of armor, though, I would guess something more akin to kevlar-covered knight armor around the abdomen and -

Have you considered a spider-version of a caparison? It'd probably have to split around the legs and use them as attachment points, though
