Human interested in other humans. Also @midmtn.
It’s actually about the sole Black survivor of the raiding party, Osborne Perry Anderson and his abolitionist bestie Mary Ann Shadd Cary writing the true history of the second American Revolution then being victims of cemetery gentrification to make way for the Rhode Island Metro after death.

The Gaetz nomination feels like an absurdist joke personifying the Trump admin's plans to literally police girl's bodies.

That's what it *should* be, a joke.

But all the jokes are threats now.

A key element of oppression is restricting the ability of those facing oppression to imagine that a better, more just world is possible.

We can fight against that oppression of the mind by creating community that allows us to not only imagine better worlds, but ultimately build them.

Our Spring 2025 Fellows will also be offered an opportunity to activate our space during our May 2025 programing when we will dig deeper into redirecting attention to important, unsung stories and continue to grow community that centers sustainable solidarity while welcoming our neighbors.

Last month, our first festival gathered dozens of performers and artists from across the country to reclaim the Murder Ballad folk music genre.

And we have an OPEN CALL NOW for folks who want to radically imagine utopia here as we face another concrete dystopian period in 2025.

It's a good thing I've also always been stubborn, because now @midmtn.bsky.social is a nonprofit.

We have a baby native food forest and the start of mutual aid programming.

And we've hosted dozens of creatives working across all mediums, creating kinder community together.

I've always had a Cassandra vibe to be honest.

I vividly remember having my editor roll his eyes and scoff at me when I infodumped, around two weeks before the sale of Twitter was announced, about how the hardcore vein of transphobia and misogyny Musk was spewing then was a canary in a coal mine.
