People *really* blow out of proportion how 'bad' ARR is. Yes, a good deal of the pacing and cutscene direction is rather *aged* compared to current, but someone new to the game won't know that! And I've found a constant WAIT FOR THE GOOD PART!! does nothing but ruin the experience for them.

Update: wearing the actual item works, which means I have had to speedrun the venthyr quests for the sinstone backpiece (and apparently learn you can just wear cosmetic items without transmogging them) Unfortunately this has left me grappling with RNG for the Corrupted backpiece
