I'm not suggesting we sit on our hands and wait it out, just that defeatism only serves those in power. I recognize the community to which I'm speaking and the privilege that my personal stakes are much lower right now. The important thing is to not retreat to our corners but stick together instead.

I wish we would stop repeating this, because it signals that you've accepted the possibility of authoritarianism. A handful of people failed to do their jobs and got us to where we are today. A LOT of people need to fail to do their jobs to prevent the next election from happening.
