Effect of heat on bougies

It gets HOT up here in Central Australia with the retrieval service. Kit left in cars can be affected

We measured this using Portex & Frova bougies, to see deformity by a standard 100ml bag of saline suspended 2cm from tip at length of 10 or 15cm fulcrum hot vs cold

Shared by colleague over on the other place, prior to forthcoming ATACC course in UK

This 10s triage tool is superb - removes need for counting respiratory or heart rate

Practical & useful in a mass casualty situation

A raft of bitches

I remember hearing about the idea of forming a “Raft of Bitches” from the FemInEM crew HT @darakass.com

Female otters – bitches, if you will – join hands with each other to create rafts that stop them from drifting apart & losing each other while asleep.

Who is in your raft?

Can those of us working in resuscitation take a pause to say “thank you” to Cliff Reid - his post today on the other platform re challenging behaviours in resus is a kind & polite masterclass in this often neglected aspect of emergency care

Kudos mate!

Working from home today on sunny Kangaroo Island, doing retrieval coordination shift for the NT

Amazes me how tech allows this work, helping manage critical care pts interstate for aeromed & road retrieval

Without the net, we’re stuffed!

A colleague in Eire will do the night shift. WFH is awesome
