Much of the Sri Lankan diaspora ended up in Manchester or Liverpool hence you ended up supporting either. My folks ended up in Manchester but the love of John Barnes meant we all leant towards LFC and that stuck ever since.

Very much the former. I love football but there’s just way too much of it now. We’re at the point of over-saturation tbh and that’s not just these sorts of internationals but also the bloated champions league format. Also as an LFC fan we have an antipathy towards the national team anyway!
