I followed the link to your webpage but when I clicked on Blog it didn't open. I wanted to read about how you formulated your clay body.

I like making handles, but don't like attaching them.

If you have a way to fire it you could make pinch pots to start testing it.

It'll make a good planter because it has drainage. I either use them outside, or put a saucer underneath and use them inside.

The issue is that if I have the energy to clean I have the energy to create, so as soon as I start cleaning I find something that needs to be worked on.

The worst part of pottery: waiting for the kiln to cool.

It's mostly a matter of finding those who would be happy to have what I no longer want, and getting it to them. Some of the churches in our community are involved in coordinating that exchange--without having to make money from it (like Goodwill, for example).

Same. I clean often, but just make messes faster than I clean them up.

Nothing wrong with that. My only rule is that it needs to have the potential to be at least somewhat functional.

My approach to this is recycling, both the plastics that come into my house, and second hand stuff that people give me because they know I'll either use it or pass it on to someone who will.

Love it! How did you make it??

This glaze combo would look good on ceramic Christmas trees.

The slab in the front is completely unprocessed. I just picked it up off the ground at the quarry, dried it, bisqued it, glazed it and fired it.

Today's pots went feral, and now I'm going to have to make more cookies because they all have glaze drips on them. Not sure why the glaze on these got so much runnier than yesterday's pots, but at least I like the effect.

I made little test bowls out of the wild clay and then fired them in bisque bowls that were big enough to contain the mess if they melted. I started at cone 06 and gradually worked my way up.

DIY is possible if you can find a place to fire it. In fact, air dry clay could be a temporary option. Just make two bowls and stick them together, and then stick the ring on the same way (in two parts), and then smooth off the seams. It would be time consuming, but also likely therapeutic.

If you think firing in a manual kiln is fun, try digging and processing your own clay. There are clay deposits everywhere, and I had no idea how easy it is to process and fire. Can't believe how much time and money I wasted buying clay when I had tons of it right in my back yard.
