In a lot of the forest the snow didn’t reach the bottom quite yet, just a few spots sporadically where the canopy is broken

The trail is hard to lose when everything else is carpeted in moss. Those costal hemlocks are climax species, these forests are ancient.

First real snowfall out here. It’s been snowy for a while more inland but hadn’t reached the coast till now.
