Porting is possible with LLM and it reduces a lot of manual effort. But which language will be better for at least another 4 to 5 years to decide. High performance, memory safety is what is more crucial than the learning curve going forward.

I prefer the existing modern language to get all the expected features. Keep on introducing new languages that may not even get matured.

Microsoft is definitely going in the right direction by taking the .net ecosystem in the open source path and supporting it continuously. The strategy of Microsoft on .Net is really great.
