I've picked up #NoMansSky again, and this game really is just such a soothing thing to play.

"Consenting to jump through hoops when asked" So every corporate job right right got it.

Still reading #Conclave and once again I can see why Lawrence/Benitez shippers exist.
A quote from the novel Conclave, by Robert Harris. It reads: "Lomeli watched the Filipino as he sat on the bed and pulled on his socks. He was struck afresh by how young and trim he looked for a man of sixty-seven – boyish almost, with his lock of jet-black hair spilling like ink across his face as he bent forward. For Lomeli these days, putting on a pair of socks could take ten minutes. Yet the Filipino’s limbs and fingers seemed as lithe and nimble as a twenty-year-old’s. Perhaps he practised yoga by candlelight, as well as praying."

Moved even further back and realized that Kai (aumaua companion) will take a pose at another nearby cookpot in such a way that he looks like Laios. Honestly this is GREAT.

And would you look at that: when you move a little bit further away from the setup, it looks JUST LIKE the camps in Dungeon Meshi/Delicious in Dungeon, with Marius (dwarf companion) functioning as Senshi.

I've been playing #Avowed lately, and I just stumbled across this reference to #DungeonMeshi / #DeliciousinDungeon. Made me grin.
The first half of a note from the video game Avowed, titled Ivory Spinner and Sporeling Fire Pot Recipe. It lists the ingredients for the dish and the preparation method, while also noting alternate preparations for sporelings and ivory spinner legs. It also adds that ivory spinner venom can be used as a spice. The second half of the Ivory Spinner and Sporeling Fire Pot Recipe note from the video game Avowed. The bottom half notes that eating creature parts is an acquired taste and that the eater may want to prepare these dishes in private to avoid censure from others. It does add, however, that this should not discourage the adventurous, and that "the strangest ingredients can be delicious when cooked in a dungeon with the help of friends." This is a direct reference to the anime and manga Dungeon Meshi, also called Delicious in Dungeon. The entire note, therefore, is an Easter egg from Obsidian, and a nod to the aforementioned anime/manga.

Catanduanes, Albay, Sorsogon, and Northern Samar are in Red. Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, and Eastern Samar are in Orange. Quezon, Masbate, Biliran, Leyte, and western Samar are in Yellow. The advisory is dated to 15 November 2024, 11:00 AM. It predicts that the affected areas will experience the storm from noon on 16 November to noon of 17 November 2024.

My friend sent me a care package that has napoleones, but also included these fantastic books. I had already planned to buy Gigil during the MIBF this year but my broken kneecap scuppered that plan. Immortal Wings is unexpected, but a delight to receive all the same.

Oddly enough this brings to mind an instance of the reverse happening: Chinese artisans creating icons and sculptures for churches during the Spanish colonial period in the Philippines. Prime example is this icon of Our Lady of Prompt Succor, now housed in Binondo Church.

Yeah, I think I'm going to have to DNF Pamela Kaufman's The Shield of Three Lions. I tried to get into the groove of it despite certain elements that made my eyebrows go straight up into my hairline, but after hitting the one-fourth mark I don't think I can continue.
