I’m proud (definitely not embarrassed) to announce that @greatesttrek.com was the podcast I listened to most in 2025 according to got my #SpotifyWrapped. I’m sure Greatest Generation was a close 2nd. Definitely my favourite #StarTrek podcasts (apparently I’m in the top 9% of embarrassed listeners).

Since my favourite podcast @greatesttrek.com is now reviewing #StarTrek The Original Series, and I’ve coincidently got my youngest child hooked on it too, it seemed the right time to finally take this book off my shelf and start reading it. I’m excited for the journey I’m hoping it will take me on.

Very excited to finally start watching #StarTrekProdigy season 2 for the first time today. I loved my season 1 rewatch. It’s such a great show. I can’t wait to join the crew for their new voyages. #StarTrek

This. The hypocrisy & racism is astounding. Thank you @owenjones.bsky.social for continuing to report on the hypocrisy of mainstream media and politicians in the West with regard to the horrors in Ukraine and Gaza/West Bank/Palestine.

Happy #firstcontactday to all those who celebrate. #StarTrek is a big part of my life. It has helped me understand myself, the universe around me & my place in it for as long as I can remember. I’m very lucky that both of my children also love Trek and will celebrate by watching lots of TNG tonight.

I picked Wall-E because they essentially save mankind, but it was a close run thing. I’d also choose R2-D2 (love the feisty attitude), Data from Star Trek (if Androids are allowed), Kryten from Red Dwarf (for comic relief) and Marvin from Hitchhikers.

Friday Night Film club is back, starting with what is sure to be a great watch. Much referenced & beloved by the @greatesttrek.bsky.social hosts @benjaminahr.mobi & Adam, I’ll be watching “Crimson Tide” for the 1st time ever. I’m sure I’ll have Ben & Adam’s voices impressions with me for the watch.

I just watched one of the best episodes of TV I have ever seen, #StarWars #TheBadBatch season 2 episode 12 “The Outpost.” Visually stunning, with beautifully haunting, atmospheric music, this was one of the most memorable, insightful & emotionally powerful episodes of all StarWars TV.

So I bought this copy of Civilization V many moons ago, and 2 kids later you notice how it’s still I it’s original packaging. Don’t be like me Ben, do both. Raise your kids and play Civilization also. Show me it can be done.

I just finished watching #Severance Season 1 and it was spectacular. Great ending to a brilliant TV show. It had all the elements I love. Satire, comedy, intrigue, psychological horror/mystery elements, great visuals, sets, production, brilliant writing, dialogue & characters. Best show on TV.

In an effort to cleanse my brain of the increasingly depressing news cycle I finally started watching #Severance on Apple TV+. It’s as good as everyone said it was. Very gripping & intriguing. Great visuals, writing & acting, and a fascinating premise. Thematically similar to #Silo in many ways too.

Watched #StarTrekTNG season 5 episode 23 “I, Borg” yesterday with my eldest , continuing their 1st watch of all #StarTrek. It was even better than I remembered, and also very topical given current events in the Middle East & world at large. No spoilers but there was some top notch acting & writing.

I just finished watching #Silo season 1 episode 10, the season finale. It was great. Really engaging, immersive and intriguing #sciencefiction TV show with great characters, performances, visuals & fascinating, intricate world building. Binged season 1 in just a few days. Very excited about Season 2

I’ve really been struggling recently, personally & globally/ politically, and a nasty incident yesterday triggered my PTSD. I’ve been bingeing lots of #StarTrek podcasts & finally listened to the @greatesttrek.bsky.social Double Dumbass Tour review of StarTrek VI “The One with the Whales” as therapy

I finally finished watching #StarTrekLowerDecks Season 5 and it was amazing. I really enjoyed the 2 episode finale. Lower Decks manages to cram so much into such a short space of time but it never feels rushed. I’m going to miss this #StarTrek show so much. Great ending but I hope it comes back.

With 2025 already shaping up to be another terrible year, for anyone who isn’t a privileged, psychopathic, selfish billionaire, I’m very grateful for Bluesky existing and all the inspiring, informed, intelligent and balanced posts & people here, as Meta jumps into the cesspit of MuskTrump.
